The Challenge

Material Wit, a boutique and jewelry studio on Orcas Island, WA, wanted to grow its online visibility and expand sales of its signature jewelry line—designed and handcrafted by the owner herself. While the in-store experience drew loyal local customers and tourists, the brand needed a stronger digital presence, elevated packaging, and comprehensive marketing tools to connect with a wider audience beyond the island. The challenge was translating the intimate, artisanal experience of discovering handcrafted jewelry in their physical boutique into a compelling online brand that could compete in the crowded digital jewelry marketplace.

The Solution

The Baylii team began with a comprehensive refresh of Material Wit's brand identity and positioning, creating a sophisticated look and messaging that resonated more deeply with their target audience of discerning jewelry lovers. We designed an elegant suite of jewelry packaging that enhanced the unboxing experience and reflected the artistry of the handcrafted pieces inside, creating memorable moments that encouraged 5-star reviews and repeat purchases. To strengthen their online presence, we built a new Shopify website optimized for SEO and designed to deliver a seamless, visually stunning shopping experience that showcased each piece's unique craftsmanship. We also developed branded email templates, including a welcome discount automation sequence, and launched targeted digital advertising campaigns promoting best-selling pieces during peak tourist season when island visitors were most likely to discover and share the brand.
