Brown McMillen Rebranding
Original Problem
Nearing their 50th anniversary, Brown McMillen Real Estate faced stiff competition from local brokerages as well as the increasing number of remote real estate agencies popping up throughout the U.S. With a primary goal of attracting new brokers to join the Brown McMillen team, our challenge was to develop a brand that reflected the agency’s 50-year legacy and deep Skagit County roots while portraying the agency as innovative and sophisticated.
Scope of work
Development of brand positioning, logo, brand book, brand messaging including tagline and website copy. We also developed graphics for office signage, brokers’ sale signs, consulted on office remodel, developed print collateral, and created a social media marketing strategy with a limited supply of content.
Creative solution
To achieve this balance between legacy, a sense of place, and sophistication, we developed a timeless brand that draws
on the natural elements of the Pacific Northwest to seamlessly blend vintage with contemporary. To maintain the community’s familiarity with Brown McMillen’s updated brand, we refined and reused elements of their previous logos, such as the shape of Washington State, color palette, and the use of a script font.
results
The new branding revitalized pride and trust in the longstanding brokerage throughout the community, internal team, and industry partners. Brown McMillen achieved an uptick in broker applications resulting in a 20% increase in successful hires. All rebranding work was done ahead of schedule for their 50th anniversary celebration.
